Gujarat authorities in South Gujarat are intensifying emergency preparedness and rescue operations due to ongoing heavy rainfall. Director General of Police G.S. Malik chaired a video conference to review the law and order situation and rainfall impact. Police officers were directed to ensure public safety, prevent rumors, and monitor cyber activities.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) expanded its deployment in vulnerable locations. In Valsad district, NDRF teams were deployed to monitor and respond to flooding emergencies. Rescue operations were successful in rescuing stranded passengers and workers in different areas. The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert in Surat due to heavy rainfall.

The Surat Municipal Corporation and district administration initiated relief and evacuation measures. Residents from low-lying areas were shifted to relief centers. Medical teams were deployed to conduct health check-ups. Officials are closely monitoring the situation and ensuring effective relief operations. In Dang district, efforts are ongoing to reduce waterlogging on major roads.

In Navsari district, alerts were issued as the Purna River’s water level rose. Fire and Emergency Services teams patrolled low-lying areas, urging residents to stay alert. Authorities are cleaning drainage channels and urging motorists to travel cautiously. The administration is working to ensure public safety amidst the challenging weather conditions.
