The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute (GCRI) in Ahmedabad saw more than 2.59 lakh outpatient department visits, over 17,800 surgeries, and 50,130 chemotherapy sessions in 2025, showcasing its significant cancer care services. With 26,810 new cancer patients registered, including 9,147 from outside Gujarat, the institute served as a national referral center.

Out-of-state patients, mainly from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar, sought treatment at GCRI, emphasizing its broad reach. The institute conducted various medical procedures, including 50 bone marrow transplants and 5,852 radiation therapy treatments, throughout the year.

In addition to treatment, GCRI focused on preventive care and early detection, organizing 110 community-based cancer screening camps and screening over 50,000 individuals in 2025. The institute’s commitment to advanced technology was evident in the increased use of PET-CT scans for cancer diagnosis and treatment planning.
