Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel shared that Gujarat contributes 8.3% to India’s GDP, 18% to industrial output, and 31% to exports. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the Gujarat Advanced Technology and Economy Expo (GATE) 2026 in Gandhinagar. The expo, organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), showcases various sectors like automobiles, renewable energy, and information technology, emphasizing artificial intelligence and cyber security.
CM Patel emphasized that the expo, themed ‘Gujarat Vision – Global Ambition’, aims to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and young entrepreneurs in expanding globally. He expressed optimism that such initiatives would enhance the state’s industrial ecosystem. Patel also praised the Vibrant Gujarat summit for positioning the state as a global gateway to the future.
Furthermore, Patel highlighted Gujarat’s progress in sectors like green growth, renewable energy, electric vehicle manufacturing, and semiconductors in alignment with the ‘Make in India, Made for the World’ initiative. He mentioned Gujarat’s ‘Developed Gujarat @ 2047’ roadmap, focusing on “earning well, living well” to contribute to India’s development goal. GCCI President Sandeep Engineer noted the expo’s significance in boosting industrial development in Gujarat and advancing the vision of ‘Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat’.
