Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised the development of Kutch district since the 2001 earthquake, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the hard work of locals during campaign meetings for the upcoming local self-government elections. Patel highlighted how Kutch has thrived under PM Modi’s vision and the dedication of its people, emphasizing the district’s ongoing progress without hindrance. He commended PM Modi for his commitment to fulfilling promises, leading to increased public trust and the expansion of infrastructure, including providing Narmada water to households in Kutch.
Referring to the growth in tourism in the region, Patel mentioned the global recognition of White Rann and Dhordo, as well as the pride in hosting international events like the G20 summit. He also discussed various welfare and education schemes such as ‘Namo Lakshmi’ and ‘Namo Saraswati’, emphasizing Gujarat’s continuous development even amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Patel highlighted the Ayushman Card scheme’s role in offering free medical treatment to economically vulnerable groups.
Regarding economic progress, Patel noted a significant increase in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Gujarat, from 1.83 lakh in 2001 to over 27 lakh, crediting initiatives like Vibrant Gujarat for this growth. He also mentioned the success of the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign in promoting environmental conservation and water preservation, underscoring the impact of individual efforts in enhancing cleanliness. Criticizing opposition parties, Patel stressed the importance of practical planning and execution over empty slogans, citing the BJP’s approach as a model for effective governance.
Encouraging voters to support BJP candidates in the upcoming elections, Patel asserted that each vote for the party would contribute to the advancement of a developed India.
