Gujarat has achieved 88% completion in farmer registrations on the PM-Kisan portal, ranking fourth nationwide. Minister Jitu Vaghani announced this progress after a state cabinet meeting, highlighting the success of the Digital Agri Stack project. The state government has finalized KYC, land records, and registrations for 59 lakh beneficiaries on the Farmer Registry portal.
The central government has acknowledged these achievements, granting Rs. 206 crore to Gujarat under Special Central Assistance. Minister Vaghani emphasized that these registrations will enable farmers to access PM-Kisan scheme benefits and synchronize their land records with national digital systems. The state cabinet has also approved measures in the revenue sector to regularize unauthorized land possession, benefiting farmers and landholders in Gujarat.
Under the new policy, landholders can legitimize regranted or eligible-for-regrant land by paying 20% of its current possession value. This decision is expected to assist those with pending possession fees, potential regrants, and heirs of such land. Moreover, individuals with mutated land under others’ possession will gain legal ownership rights. Gujarat’s focus on digital registration and land regularization aims to enhance agricultural support systems and facilitate government service access for farmers.
