The Gujarat government initiated a statewide campaign to reintegrate over 80,000 school dropout children back into the education system. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel aims for “zero dropout” to ensure no child is left behind. The children will be placed in appropriate classes from Standards 1 to 12 with academic support to address learning gaps.

District-wise lists of school dropouts have been compiled across Gujarat. Teachers, local leaders, and community representatives will collaborate to persuade parents to send their children back to school. Patel stressed the importance of cooperation between schools and families to provide quality education for youth to seize opportunities in Gujarat’s growing business landscape.

Emphasizing the significance of teachers in preventing dropouts, Patel mentioned close monitoring of attendance. If a child is absent for two consecutive days, teachers visit their homes to investigate. The government’s efforts to enhance education quality have led to a shift of students from private to government schools. The campaign aims to prepare youth for future opportunities while supporting the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
