Gujarat’s health authorities have discussed expanding specialized cardiac treatment services across the state, with the U.N. Mehta Cardiac Institute revealing 8,504 successful heart surgeries and over 3.94 lakh outpatient consultations in 2025.
A high-level meeting chaired by Health Minister Praful Pansheriya in Gandhinagar reviewed plans for enhancing cardiac services. The meeting assessed the state’s cardiac healthcare infrastructure, progress on new treatment centers, and strategies to improve access to specialized heart care.
Pansheriya emphasized the government’s commitment to providing advanced healthcare services to Gujarat’s citizens. He highlighted the institute’s achievements in 2025, including 8,504 successful cardiac surgeries and thousands of patients benefiting from outpatient and inpatient services.
The meeting also evaluated the construction progress of satellite centers in Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Surat, and Sola in Ahmedabad. Pansheriya monitored the projects’ advancement and urged for their timely completion to enhance cardiac care accessibility.
Officials discussed plans for systematic expansion of cardiac services in Gujarat to ensure better access to specialized treatment for patients. Pansheriya noted that Gujarat’s healthcare infrastructure was attracting patients from other states and even abroad, positioning the state as a reliable healthcare destination.
The government’s focus on providing quality healthcare to all sections of society was reiterated by Pansheriya. He emphasized the state’s commitment to offering modern, accessible, and compassionate treatment to every patient, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.
The meeting aimed to strengthen the government’s “Healthcare with Humanity” initiative, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services in Gujarat.
