The Gujarat Police’s State Monitoring Cell confiscated Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and assets valued at over Rs 1.86 crore from a warehouse in Mahisagar district. Seven individuals were apprehended, two juveniles were booked, and 16 others were listed as wanted in connection with an alleged interstate liquor smuggling network. The operation was conducted following a prohibition raid by Police Sub-Inspector J.S. Rajput at warehouses in the GIDC area of Balasinor.
Officers discovered 41,600 bottles and beer tins of Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 1,56,81,120 during the raid. Additionally, they recovered vehicles, mobile phones, cash, and bags of cattle feed that were allegedly used to hide the liquor stock. The total value of the seized items amounts to Rs 1,86,24,850. A case has been filed at Balasinor Police Station under the Gujarat Prohibition Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Among the arrested individuals are residents from various districts, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat. The main accused, Manish Mehra, along with other associates, has been identified as part of the alleged liquor smuggling network. The investigation is ongoing to locate the remaining suspects and uncover the full scope of the operation.
