The Gujarat Police’s State Monitoring Cell confiscated Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and assets exceeding Rs 56 lakh in separate prohibition operations in Kheda and Anand districts. Acting on directives from the Director General of Police (DGP), G.S. Malik, to combat illegal liquor and gambling, the raids resulted in the seizure of 5,940 IMFL bottles worth Rs 41,43,396 at Hotel Sahayog in Kheda. Four wanted individuals face prohibition charges under various sections of the Gujarat Prohibition Act.
In another raid near Vasad Toll Plaza in Anand district, the police seized 7,833 IMFL bottles valued at Rs 14,88,239. Arman Babar was apprehended, while Adil Nazir Sheikh, Faesal Majidbhai, and Tausif Ibrahim Sheikh are wanted in connection with the case. The total worth of the seized items amounted to Rs 21,99,009, leading to the registration of prohibition cases against the accused.
During interrogation, Arman Babar revealed that he acted under the instructions of the main accused, Adil Nazir Sheikh, in transporting the liquor consignment. The State Monitoring Cell emphasized that these operations were part of their continuous efforts to combat illicit liquor activities in Gujarat.
