Gujarat Police successfully located 701 missing individuals in a two-week initiative called ‘Operation Milaap’. This statewide drive, aimed at reuniting missing persons with their families, was conducted between May 7 and May 21. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi praised the coordinated effort and the allocation of resources for this campaign.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat Police launched a special campaign to find missing persons. The success of the operation is evident in the 701 individuals traced and reunited with their families. This initiative, directed by Gujarat Director General of Police K.L.N. Rao, involves reopening long-pending missing person cases and intensifying investigations using various resources.
‘Operation Milaap’ involves a systematic approach, combining traditional and technical methods to trace missing persons. The police are re-examining old records, digital and forensic materials, and reaching out to complainants and families. The operation, led by Additional Director General of Police Ajay Chaudhary, focuses on structured and intelligence-led strategies.
During the two-week period, Gujarat Police found 19 minor boys, 97 minor girls, 417 women, and 168 men among the traced individuals. The ongoing statewide exercise to locate missing persons will continue. Authorities have also uncovered connections to broader criminal issues like human trafficking and child trafficking networks during the investigations.
