Sudharsan followed suit, reaching his fifth consecutive IPL fifty off 35 balls.
Gill and Sudharsan’s partnership of 125 runs not only propelled Gujarat Titans but also equaled a record for most 100-run partnerships in IPL-10. Gill’s dismissal in the 13th over paved the way for Buttler to maintain the momentum with quick boundaries. Sudharsan continued his aggressive batting, moving into the 80s with clean hits.
In the 18th over, Sudharsan’s aggressive play was halted as he was dismissed after a well-played innings. Buttler, however, continued the onslaught, reaching his fifty off 23 balls. Despite some late wickets, Gujarat Titans crossed the 220-run mark, setting a challenging target for Chennai Super Kings.
Chennai Super Kings will face an uphill task in their chase, especially with key player Sanju Samson nursing a finger injury. Samson’s availability to bat in the second innings remains uncertain, adding to the challenge for Chennai Super Kings.
