The ‘Niradhar Vridhha Pension Yojana’ by the Gujarat government is a crucial financial aid for numerous elderly citizens in the state. Administered by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, the scheme offers monthly assistance to seniors for a dignified life. Individuals aged 60-79 receive ₹1,000 per month, while those 80 and above get ₹1,250.
Hajarimal Joshi from Palanpur Taluka in Banaskantha district has been benefiting from the scheme for a decade, receiving ₹1,000 monthly via direct bank transfer. He appreciates the independence the pension provides, eliminating the need to rely on others for daily expenses.
Expressing gratitude, Hajarimal emphasizes the significant help the pension offers in meeting his needs, whether for travel or essential purchases. He no longer has to seek financial help from his children for medicines or medical care, enabling him to manage his expenses freely.
S.B. Prajapati, the Mamlatdar of Palanpur, highlights the effective implementation of the scheme in the region, aiming to empower the elderly towards self-sufficiency. Currently, 3,988 beneficiaries in Palanpur Taluka benefit from the Niradhar Vridhha Pension Yojana.
