Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) National President and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal has criticized BJP State President Madan Rathore for suggesting a social boycott against him. Beniwal stated that he is seeking legal advice from the High Court and Supreme Court and cautioned that legal action might be taken against Rathore for his remarks. He emphasized that in India, social boycotts are not permissible, even by Khap Panchayats, under the legal and constitutional framework.
Beniwal argued that the BJP’s call for a social boycott, coming from the state president of the ruling party, goes beyond legal and democratic boundaries. He alleged that the public’s support for the BJP was due to dissatisfaction with issues like paper leaks, increasing crime rates, and the alleged impunity of mafias during the previous Congress government. However, he claimed that the BJP’s stance changed immediately after coming into power.
Referring to recent events, Beniwal questioned the BJP’s silence on the reported deaths of around 500 cows in Jaisalmer. He pointed out that the party had previously organized protests statewide on similar issues while in opposition. Beniwal also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge to crack down on the “paper leak mafia” before the elections. Yet, he alleged that even after two and a half years in power, the state government has not made significant arrests related to such illegal activities.
Despite not having any MLAs in the Assembly currently, Beniwal mentioned that the RLP has emerged as a significant political entity in Rajasthan, positioning itself as a “third political force” and actively addressing public concerns throughout the state. In response to Rathore’s statements, Beniwal reiterated his intention to seek legal counsel from the High Court and Supreme Court, hinting at potential legal actions to follow.
