Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini distributed Rs 1,431 crore to 56.34 lakh beneficiaries under 18 public welfare schemes. This marked one of the largest single-day disbursements by the state recently. The funds included the fourth installment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, social security pensions, cooking gas subsidies, and incentives for milk producers, focusing on supporting women, the elderly, vulnerable, and small producers.
Under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, Rs 193 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 922,452 beneficiaries. This brought the total release under the scheme to Rs 634 crore across four installments. The scheme offers monthly financial aid of Rs 2,100 to eligible women aged 23 and above from families with an annual income below Rs 1 lakh, with expanded eligibility for certain categories earning up to Rs 1.80 lakh annually.
Moreover, the state released Rs 1,098 crore for old-age, widow, differently-abled, and other social security pensions, benefiting 34.14 lakh individuals. To address complaints regarding pension delays and income-based eligibility, the government instructed Additional Deputy Commissioners in all districts to hold grievance redress hearings twice a week for timely resolutions.
In addition, Rs 38.97 crore was credited under the Har Ghar-Har Grihini Yojana as a subsidy for November and December to 12.62 lakh women refilling LPG cylinders. This scheme allows eligible women to obtain a gas cylinder monthly at a subsidized rate of Rs 500. Subsidies totaling Rs 18.56 crore were previously released to 608,842 beneficiaries on January 1.
