Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini instructed the Citizen Resources Information Department to prioritize completing income verification via Gram Sabhas under the Parivar Pehchan Patra initiative. This directive came during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with officials from the Citizen Resources Information Department and the SEWA Department. The focus was on addressing issues related to family identity cards and ensuring their resolution.
Commissioner and Secretary of the Citizen Resources Information Department, J. Ganesan, highlighted that many families in Haryana are facing challenges in accessing welfare schemes due to pending income verification. Despite the existence of an income verification committee, discrepancies in reported family income have complicated the process. In response, the Chief Minister mandated that income figures provided by the team leader and local operator be verified by the Gram Sabha of the respective village to ascertain the actual income of families.
CM Saini further directed that unresolved age verification applications should be processed through the Additional Deputy Commissioner within a month. He emphasized that individuals or families with agricultural income up to Rs 5 lakh should not be excluded from government schemes meant for those with annual incomes up to Rs 1.80 lakh. Additionally, he instructed officials to address Aadhaar-linking issues related to the Dayalu Scheme by establishing a joint committee involving the District Social Welfare Officer and the Additional Deputy Commissioner. Coordination between the SEWA Department and the Citizen Resources Information Department was stressed for effective resolution.
Providing insights into the department’s operations, Commissioner Ganesan highlighted that the Parivar Pehchan Patra platform in Haryana stands as a unique initiative nationwide. The platform has successfully registered 77,41,912 families and 2,98,47,359 members across all 23 districts of Haryana.
