In a significant move against organized crime, the Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police has successfully extradited wanted gangster Aman Kumar, also known as Aman Bhainswal, from the United States. This marks the sixth extradition by the STF since 2025 and the second major operation conducted from the US, bolstering the state’s efforts against criminal activities.
Following the operation’s success, DGP Ajay Singhal issued a stern warning to criminals and fugitives who think they can evade the law by crossing borders or using false identities. He emphasized that the Haryana Police will ensure that every fugitive, whether within India or abroad, faces justice, emphasizing the state’s commitment to law and order.
Aman Bhainswal has been linked to various criminal activities, including shootings, murders, attempted murders, extortion, and illegal arms dealings in Haryana and the Delhi-NCR region. Operating an extensive criminal network spanning Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Delhi, he faces ten criminal cases in Haryana and Delhi.
Despite being a wanted criminal, Bhainswal managed to flee abroad using forged documents to avoid prosecution. However, the STF’s persistent tracking, technical surveillance, and international coordination thwarted his escape plan. The investigation uncovered that Bhainswal obtained a passport fraudulently with forged documents using an address in East Delhi.
On June 20, 2024, he traveled to Kuwait and then entered the US with the illegal passport. Subsequently, a case was registered against him in Haryana under the Indian Justice Code and the Passport Act. With the issuance of a Look-Out Circular, securing an Interpol Red Corner Notice, and declaring him a proclaimed offender, the STF’s meticulous legal procedures led to his extradition.
The extradition of Aman Bhainswal highlights the STF’s effective global strategy to apprehend fugitives seeking refuge overseas, showcasing their commitment to combatting transnational crime.
