The Haryana Special Task Force seized 8.940 kilograms of heroin valued at nearly Rs 36 crore in Gurugram during an anti-narcotics operation. The heroin was reportedly being transported from Punjab to Haryana for distribution across the state. Acting on a tip-off, the STF conducted a raid at the residence of the accused, Rohit, in Bhiwani district.
STF Officer Pritpal Singh informed that the heroin was found hidden in a wardrobe at Rohit’s house during the raid. Rohit, the accused, was arrested and taken into police custody for further questioning. Preliminary investigations suggest Rohit was involved in large-scale heroin trafficking, sourcing narcotics from Punjab and distributing them in Haryana.
Authorities mentioned that Rohit’s absconding brother, a proclaimed offender facing drug-related charges in Punjab, is also part of the drug trafficking network. The STF is interrogating Rohit to uncover other members of the gang and track the broader heroin supply chain from Punjab to Haryana. The operation is a significant achievement in the STF’s efforts to combat narcotics smuggling and organized crime in Haryana.
