A Head Constable was discovered hanging inside a disused police outpost in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident, reported at Nowgon police station, was brought to light when locals alerted the authorities about a body in the abandoned building. Police responded promptly, securing the area and sending the body for postmortem examination.
The outpost where the tragic event took place had been unused for a period, while a new outpost across the road was operational. The deceased, identified as Tarun Gandharak, a 35-year-old resident of Sagar district, was stationed at Nowgong police station. Not on duty at the time, he was found in civilian attire. Forensic experts visited the scene to gather evidence for the investigation.
According to Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Amit Meshram, Head Constable Tarun Gandharak may have been experiencing stress. The old outpost, where the incident occurred, contrasts with the active new outpost nearby. No suicide note was recovered, and authorities are piecing together the events leading to the tragedy. Clarity on the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the suspected suicide is anticipated post the post-mortem and forensic analysis.
