A significant presence of 150-200 police personnel has been established in New Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area to maintain law and order during Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. Despite initial concerns, the situation has remained calm and well-controlled, attributed to the visible police presence at key locations. Residents gathered for morning Eid prayers in a peaceful and cooperative atmosphere.
Law enforcement agencies have effectively maintained order, allowing religious observances to proceed smoothly without disruptions or security issues. To uphold this stability, a substantial deployment of police officers has been stationed outside the Uttam Nagar police station, ensuring round-the-clock vigilance and security coverage. Authorities aim to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure a peaceful environment for citizens to celebrate without fear.
Following the Delhi High Court’s directive, security measures were intensified in Uttam Nagar to ensure a secure environment during Eid festivities. Earlier tensions in the area stemmed from a violent clash on Holi, resulting in the tragic death of a 26-year-old man, Tarun Kumar. The altercation began with a minor incident involving a water balloon, escalating into a confrontation between two communities. Kumar was fatally attacked near his home, leading to communal tensions in the locality.
