Himachal Pradesh BJP President, Rajeev Bindal, stated that BJP-backed candidates achieved a significant win in the initial phase of the Panchayati Raj elections, with voting taking place for 1,293 panchayats. Bindal alleged that reports suggested nearly 75% of the panchayats saw BJP-supported candidates triumphing for pradhan and up-pradhan positions.
This outcome, according to Bindal, reflects the populace’s discontent and frustration with the Congress government’s policies, promises, and governance in Himachal Pradesh. He criticized the Congress for failing to fulfill commitments made to women, youth, farmers, employees, and the general public before assuming power.
Bindal accused the Congress of delivering only betrayal, inflation, unemployment, and financial hardships to the people of Himachal Pradesh over the past two and a half years. He highlighted unmet pledges of financial aid to women, job opportunities for youth, and support for farmers, emphasizing the challenges faced by the state’s youth, farmers, orchardists, and common citizens.
