Himachal Pradesh’s Opposition leader, Jairam Thakur, has criticized the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led state government for hindering crucial projects like the Nalagarh Medical Device Park. Thakur stated that the government’s stubbornness, corruption, and mismanagement have negatively impacted the state’s economy.
Thakur highlighted that the Nalagarh project, along with similar parks in other states, could significantly boost the economy and create job opportunities. Despite the Union government releasing funds for the project, the state government’s delays have jeopardized its completion and the associated investments.
Expressing concern over the declining health services in the state, Thakur pointed out issues such as pending liabilities affecting public health schemes and disruptions in the supply of medical supplies. He also criticized the state government for failing to address the healthcare needs of the people effectively.
Thakur further criticized the state government for its failure to pay vendors, leading to supply shortages and increased healthcare costs for patients. He highlighted instances of major hospitals exploiting patients by raising prices for essential medical services, exacerbating the healthcare challenges faced by the public.
