Hindu seers and petitioners involved in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case and Gyanvapi mosque-mandir dispute have urged for strict action against those responsible for embezzlement in the Ram Temple donation case. Eight individuals were charged, leading to the resignations of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Trust member Anil Mishra, who were then placed in judicial custody for three days.
Sohan Lal Arya, a petitioner in the Gyanvapi mosque-temple dispute, mentioned that further arrests are expected as the Special Investigation Team continues its probe. He emphasized the need to expose all involved in the theft to maintain faith in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. Iqbal Ansari, a former litigant in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case, expressed that Champat Rai’s resignation was premature and should have awaited investigation results.
Seer Mahant Bhaktcharan Das Maharaj stressed the importance of taking appropriate action against the arrested individuals while defending Champat Rai’s contributions to the Ram Temple construction. He highlighted the necessity of legal repercussions for those engaged in such misconduct to uphold justice. Various religious figures, including Acharya Mahamandaleshwar and Mahant Yamuna Puri, echoed the call for thorough investigations and punishment for the guilty parties to prevent future occurrences and restore faith in the community.
Mahant Aniruddh Dev Das labeled the controversy as a stain on Sanatan culture, emphasizing the need for strict measures against the offenders to uphold the sanctity of donations and the reputation of Hindu beliefs. The collective sentiment among the seers and petitioners is to ensure accountability and integrity in handling donations for religious purposes.
