PM Modi’s visit to Somnath coincides with 75 years since the temple’s restoration by India’s first President, Rajendra Prasad. The Prime Minister recalled his participation in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv earlier this year, marking a millennium since the temple’s first recorded attack. He paid tribute to key figures involved in the temple’s restoration and protection, emphasizing the journey of Somnath from ruin to renewal.
PM Modi highlighted the government’s approach of modernizing spiritual centers while preserving their traditional identity. He mentioned the modernization efforts at various pilgrimage sites across India, ensuring modern facilities without compromising their traditional character.
