The Hockey India League 2025-2026 is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar, the birthplace of hockey, on January 17, with ticket sales commencing at 11:00 am IST on Tuesday. Fans eager to witness the matches live can avail themselves of free tickets, as announced by Hockey India. The league’s grand finale is set for January 26.

Dilip Tirkey, the chairperson of the Hockey India League (HIL) Governing Committee, expressed excitement about the league’s return to Bhubaneswar, emphasizing the enthusiasm among hockey fans to watch their favorite players in action. To attract more spectators to the stadium and enhance the match experience, Hockey India has made tickets available free of charge. This initiative aims to draw fans from across Odisha to Bhubaneswar for an exhilarating display of hockey.

Bhola Nath Singh, a member of the HIL governing committee, encouraged more fans to attend the matches in person, particularly highlighting the upcoming culmination of the league in Bhubaneswar on January 26. Singh emphasized the importance of expanding the sport’s fanbase across different regions and anticipated a full stadium for the final event.

The Hockey India League features eight men’s teams and four women’s teams, offering fast-paced and thrilling games with newly revamped formats. In the Men’s HIL, the Kalinga Lancers currently lead the points table during the initial phase held in Chennai, securing a victorious start to their campaign with a 4-2 win at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium. On the other hand, the SG Pipers have already secured a spot in the women’s HIL final as the top team, with their final berth confirmed after the Soorma Hockey Club defeated the Ranchi Royals.
