A tragic incident occurred in Bharwara village, Bihar, where a husband and wife drowned in a pond, leading to shock in the local community. Hasrat Parveen (40) reportedly jumped into the Panpihi pond in an apparent suicide attempt. Her husband, Sanaullah (45), tried to rescue her but tragically, both lost their lives in the deep water.
Authorities were alerted by locals who sought help for the couple, as neither knew how to swim. With the assistance of divers, the Singwada police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. The deceased couple resided in Ward No. 6 in Bharwara village.
Officials disclosed that Hasrat Parveen had previously made a similar attempt about ten days earlier, which was thwarted by villagers and the Dial 112 police team. Despite counseling, she repeated the act by jumping into the pond on Thursday, prompting her husband’s unsuccessful rescue effort.
The couple, survived by their son Hasmatullah alias Ikhlaq, and married daughter Nazia Parveen, are now the focus of an ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. Police are interviewing family members to shed light on the reasons behind the event, with particular interest in the statement of Hasmatullah alias Ikhlaq, who was closely associated with the couple.
