The Indian Council of Medical Research’s (ICMR) initiative, ICMR-MINDS, has received the Gold Award in the Innovation by Use of AI and Other New Age Technologies category at the National Awards for e-Governance. The award was presented during the 29th National Conference on e-Governance in Jaipur on July 1–2.
This prestigious award was conferred by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, handed over the award in the presence of other dignitaries.
ICMR-MINDS focuses on integrating screening and management of mental and substance use disorders with non-communicable diseases. Its Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) allows frontline healthcare providers to conduct mental health screening and management tasks efficiently. The platform also includes features like digital workflows, clinical guidance, and real-time dashboards for service monitoring.
The initiative’s continuity-of-care framework emphasizes structured referral pathways, enabling stable patients to receive follow-up care at nearby health facilities. This approach optimizes specialist time, enhances treatment adherence, and reduces patient dropout rates, ultimately improving mental healthcare delivery.
