The India Meteorological Department predicts moderate rainfall in parts of southern Tamil Nadu, including Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in one or two places in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and districts along the Western Ghats, providing relief from the heat. However, the rest of Tamil Nadu will likely remain dry, as will Puducherry.
Similar dry conditions are anticipated in Puducherry, with no significant rainfall expected. The IMD forecasts a gradual increase in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu, leading to hotter daytime weather. Coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, on the other hand, are not expected to see significant temperature changes.
Despite stable temperatures along the coast, the combination of high humidity and heat may cause discomfort. Weather officials warn of sultry and oppressive conditions, particularly during the daytime. In Chennai, partly cloudy skies are forecast with maximum temperatures around 36 to 37 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures near 27 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is unlikely, and humid conditions are expected to persist.
The IMD has not issued any specific warnings for fishermen along the Tamil Nadu coast, indicating stable sea conditions. Authorities recommend precautions against heat exposure, hydration, and limiting outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, especially in interior districts. While some southern areas may see brief rain spells, most of Tamil Nadu will face dry and increasingly warm weather ahead.
