Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has teamed up with Diljit Dosanjh for the film “Main Vaapas Aaunga,” a poignant tribute to those impacted by the Partition. A special video of the song “Kya Kamaal Hai” will be featured during the film’s credits, honoring refugees worldwide who have had to start anew. Ali expressed that the project carries deep emotions, standing in solidarity with those who endured the historical turmoil.

The director emphasized the significance of the collaboration with Dosanjh, highlighting their joint effort as a gesture of support for those affected by such calamities. Ali stressed the enduring relevance of the Partition’s legacy, which continues to displace millions globally. The song “Kya Kamaal Hai,” a collaboration involving Dosanjh, A.R. Rahman, Ali, and lyricist Irshad Kamil, serves as a message of hope and resilience.

“Main Vaapas Aaunga” stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina in key roles. Scheduled for release on June 12, 2026, the film delves into the profound impact of forced migration and the enduring spirit of humanity in the face of adversity.
