Indian filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, preparing for the release of his new movie ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, explained his decision to collaborate with the renowned music composer A.R. Rahman. Imtiaz, known for working closely with Pritam or A.R. Rahman, highlighted the latter’s exceptional track record in their collaborations. When questioned about his preference for A.R. Rahman in ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, Imtiaz emphasized the need to blend the music of a specific era with contemporary elements, aiming for authenticity and entertainment value.
Imtiaz elaborated that the film required a fusion of Western music styles prevalent during that period with the folk music of the time. This unique blend was essential to recreate the essence of a particular era authentically. ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’ marks the fifth collaboration between Imtiaz Ali and A.R. Rahman, following the success of their previous chart-topping soundtracks for films like ‘Rockstar’, ‘Highway’, ‘Tamasha’, and ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’.
The movie, produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal of Applause Entertainment, Mohit Choudhary, and Shibasish Sarkar of Window Seat Films, is scheduled to hit the theaters on June 12, 2026.
