Indian filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, preparing for his film ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, revealed details about creating the song ‘Safar’ from ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. Originally planned as a blues song, it evolved into a blend of “country meets blues.” Ali described the song as capturing the essence of a modern individual’s state of mind.
During the promotion of ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, Ali explained the transformation of ‘Safar’. Despite its changes, the song maintained a fusion of country and blues elements, resonating with the contemporary human experience. Pritam’s ‘Safar’ stands out in his music repertoire due to its unique structure and instrumentation.
Ali expressed his fondness for ‘Safar’, emphasizing the perpetual journey and flux of human existence it portrays. He recalled the fulfilling experience of shooting the song, particularly scenes at a railway station in Budapest featuring Shah Rukh Khan. ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, produced by Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films, is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
