India and Saudi Arabia recently engaged in discussions to enhance their bilateral relations, focusing on various aspects of mutual interest. The Consul General of India in Jeddah, Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, met with Ibrahim bin Saeed Al-Subhi, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Madinah Branch, to explore ways to strengthen ties and address diaspora issues. Additionally, India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Suhel Ajaz Khan, held talks with Eyad Abdulmalik Alalshaikh, General Executive Director of the Saudi Ministry of Defence, to discuss enhancing defense cooperation and identifying new areas of collaboration.
The discussions between the two countries emphasized the commitment to expanding strategic cooperation and fostering stronger bilateral ties in the future. Notably, the recent visit of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to Saudi Arabia further solidified the growing partnership between the two nations. During the visit, Doval engaged in high-level meetings with senior Saudi leadership, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing energy cooperation, and addressing key regional developments.
The Embassy of India in Riyadh highlighted that the discussions during the visit covered a wide range of issues, including bilateral cooperation, regional security concerns, and mutual interests. Doval’s meetings with prominent Saudi leaders, such as Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, underscored the importance of ongoing dialogues to address various shared interests and challenges.
