India has expressed deep concerns over recent attacks on minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized the need to swiftly and decisively address communal violence in the neighboring country. India highlighted a troubling trend of downplaying such attacks by attributing them to personal disputes, warning that this approach only emboldens extremists.
Amid escalating violence, a Hindu man in Bangladesh tragically lost his life while trying to escape a mob accusing him of robbery. This incident marked the seventh attack in 19 days, underscoring a concerning rise in violence against Hindu communities. Two other Hindu men were killed in separate incidents within 24 hours, with one being fatally attacked in Narsingdi district and the other shot dead in public in Jashore district.
The recent surge in violence against minorities in Bangladesh has drawn international attention. India had previously expressed grave concern over the ongoing hostility towards minorities in Bangladesh, including Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists. The country continues to monitor the situation closely and hopes for a decisive response to curb such incidents.
