India observed ‘Shaheedi Diwas’ on Monday to commemorate the sacrifices of revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru in the country’s fight for independence. These iconic figures were executed on March 23, 1931, in Lahore jail, fueling the freedom movement and leading to the declaration of March 23 as Shaheedi Diwas.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the revolutionaries, emphasizing their significant role in inspiring the youth during the struggle for India’s liberation. He praised their valor, which struck fear into the British regime and continues to evoke patriotic fervor.
Various leaders, including Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, honored the martyrs on Shaheedi Diwas, highlighting their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to the nation. Their actions instilled a sense of self-respect and revolutionary spirit among the youth, propelling the freedom movement to a crucial juncture.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid homage to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, acknowledging their indomitable spirit and everlasting impact on India’s history.
