India expressed condolences on the passing of Thailand’s Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita, who died at 47 after being hospitalized since 2022.
The Indian Embassy in Bangkok conveyed deepest sympathies, highlighting the Princess’s contributions to public service and diplomacy. Princess Bajrakitiyabha passed away peacefully at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok on Thursday evening.
Thailand’s Royal Household Bureau revealed that the Princess had been receiving medical treatment since December 2022 for heart-related issues. Despite efforts by the medical team, her health deteriorated, leading to her passing at the age of 47 on June 11, 2026.
Thailand’s King issued a Royal Command for the royal funeral rites, with the Princess to be honored with the highest respects as per tradition. The royal remains will be placed at Biman Rataya Pavilion within the Grand Palace.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha, born on December 7, 1978, was the eldest daughter of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. She had a distinguished career as a public prosecutor, Thai Ambassador to Vienna, and chairperson of various scholarship programs.
The late Princess, known as ‘Princess Pa’ among the Thai people, was also recognized for her philanthropic efforts, including establishing a foundation to aid disaster victims. Her dedication and compassion towards the people will be cherished.
