Highlighting India’s leadership in renewable energy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the country’s progress in wind power during his recent ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address. India has added around 6 GW of new wind energy capacity in a year, ranking fourth globally. PM Modi sees this as a symbol of India’s commitment to a sustainable future, achieved through collective efforts of the government and citizens.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan in leading the green energy revolution. He specifically mentioned the transformation of Gujarat’s desert regions into hubs for renewable energy projects, turning challenges into economic opportunities. This shift serves as a model for sustainable development nationwide.

PM Modi highlighted the socio-economic impact of wind energy projects, creating new opportunities for India’s youth. The sector’s growth is fostering skill development and employment in rural and semi-urban areas, contributing to professional advancement and economic empowerment. He emphasized that clean energy adoption is crucial for every citizen to secure the nation’s future.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of conserving electricity and embracing renewable sources for a resilient energy infrastructure. By prioritizing clean energy, India not only addresses global environmental concerns but also builds a self-reliant energy system for future generations.
