Jose Mourinho has returned to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training center for pre-season training, marking his second stint as the club’s first-team coach. Due to several key players like Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe still being at the World Cup, Mourinho will not have the full squad available immediately. However, he emphasized that preparations had been ongoing well before the start of training.
Mourinho expressed his joy at rejoining the club after 13 years, describing it as a mission focused on enhancing the team’s overall performance and fostering a culture of dedication and ambition. He emphasized the importance of collective improvement, aiming to elevate the players and staff while instilling a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.
While Mourinho acknowledged the absence of some players, he highlighted the positive aspect of familiarizing himself with the team and vice versa. He plans to involve players from Real Madrid’s B team, Real Madrid Castilla, in the initial training sessions to compensate for the missing first-team members. The team commenced training at the Ciudad Real Madrid, starting with gym sessions before moving to the pitch for a series of physical and ball exercises, possession drills, and mini matches.
