Buoyed by their victory over Pakistan, India is set to clash with Bangladesh in the final Group B match of the SAFF U20 Championship at the National Football Stadium in Malé, Maldives. Despite already securing a spot in the semifinals, India aims to clinch the top position in the group, while Bangladesh seeks a win to advance. India’s head coach, Mahesh Gawali, emphasized the team’s focus on upcoming challenges, acknowledging the competitive nature of the tournament.

India, having qualified for the next stage, sees the upcoming game as an opportunity to enhance their performance before the knockout rounds. While their recent match against Pakistan showcased strengths, defensive lapses were evident in the first half, requiring goalkeeper Suraj Singh Aheibam to make crucial saves. Bangladesh, coming off a victory against Pakistan, is eager to avenge their loss to India in the SAFF U19 Championship 2025 final.

The match will also feature a battle between India’s Omang Dodum and Bangladesh’s Ronan Sullivan, both aiming to increase their goal tally. Dodum expressed satisfaction with his performance and looks forward to facing Bangladesh, emphasizing the goal of securing three points. Sullivan, optimistic after their win against Pakistan, is determined to defeat India and maintain a perfect record in the group stage.

With both teams eyeing the top spot in Group B, the upcoming encounter promises an intense showdown. India’s focus lies in maintaining momentum, improving defensive solidity, and entering the semifinals with confidence.
