The India U17 men’s football team, gearing up for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026, is set to have two friendly matches against Myanmar in Yangon on March 3 and 5, 2026. Having already played four international friendly games this year, the Blue Colts will face Myanmar as part of their preparations. The team, under Bibiano Fernandes, has been training in Goa after returning from Türkiye.
India U-17 will head to the Myanmar capital on February 28, as confirmed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). Both India and Myanmar have secured spots in the upcoming AFC U-17 Asian Cup. Myanmar topped Group C in the qualifiers, edging out Oman, Syria, Afghanistan, and Nepal. India, on the other hand, is grouped with Australia, Uzbekistan, and DPR Korea in the tournament.
The AFC U-17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 will feature 16 top teams from Asia. India’s qualification marks their participation in the 21st edition of the tournament, a prestigious event organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for men’s under-17 national teams. The tournament will see Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Myanmar in Group A, while Japan, Indonesia, China, and Qatar form Group B.
The group winners and runners-up in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup will progress to the quarterfinals and secure berths in the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Notably, if Qatar advances to the quarterfinals, the best third-placed team will also qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
