Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla recently spoke to cadets at the National Defence Academy about his time at the International Space Station. The talk, described as informative, motivating, and inspiring, highlighted Shukla’s experiences during the rigorous space training and his stay in space.
During the interactive session, Shukla, an IAF fighter pilot and Ashoka Chakra recipient, emphasized the role of the National Defence Academy in shaping his journey to space. He stressed the importance of qualities like perseverance, resilience, and self-discipline in achieving goals, inspiring the cadets.
Shukla, honored with the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award, shared his space mission details with the cadets. He became the second Indian astronaut to travel to space after Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, conducting research experiments and agricultural trials, successfully growing fenugreek and mung beans in space.
Despite facing challenges, Shukla’s mission was a success, showcasing his professional excellence, leadership, and calm decision-making abilities. His achievements are a source of pride for the Indian Air Force and the nation, serving as inspiration for future generations.
