Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, welcomed Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, at India House in preparation for his upcoming activities in Washington DC. This meeting signifies the ongoing high-level military exchanges between India and the US, following recent visits by other military officials. The aim is to strengthen defense ties, a crucial aspect of the comprehensive global strategic partnership, to promote a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
General Upendra Dwivedi recently engaged in discussions with General Ronald P. Clark of the United States Army Pacific and other officials in Honolulu to enhance defense cooperation and promote peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. During his visit to the US military base in Hawaii, General Dwivedi was honored with a Guard of Honour at Fort Shafter and also had the opportunity to observe Oahu Island from the air.
In a separate event earlier this month, the strategic defense partnership between India and the US was reaffirmed during talks between the chiefs of their air forces. Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh visited the US and was warmly received by US Air Force Chief of Staff General Kenneth Wilsbach. Discussions emphasized the importance of defense collaboration in ensuring a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, highlighting the significance of joint exercises and cooperation among like-minded partners.
