An Indian American community leader expressed optimism about India–US relations with the arrival of the new American ambassador in New Delhi. Jasdip Singh Jessee, from Sikhs for Trump, highlighted the significance of Sergio Gor taking charge as Ambassador of the United States to India, emphasizing it as a positive step.

Jessee noted the impact of a prolonged vacancy in the ambassadorial post, stating that it had led to uncertainty during a crucial period for the bilateral relationship. He praised Gor’s proximity to President Donald Trump, indicating India’s importance in Washington’s foreign policy considerations.

Gor’s early public statements in India were well-received, with Jessee commending the positive and balanced coverage by the Indian media. Jessee also mentioned the broadening engagement between India and the US, particularly in economic and strategic cooperation, with discussions on trade deals and high-level contacts showing signs of progress.

The Indian American diaspora is keen on enhancing ties between the two democracies, with a focus on advancing the relationship to a stronger level. Jessee emphasized the community’s commitment to supporting and elevating the partnership between India and the US.
