In a successful anti-smuggling operation off the Mundra coast, the Indian Coast Guard, in collaboration with ATS Gujarat, confiscated around 115 kg of Cocaine. The operation, carried out during the night of May 25-26, involved the interception of the MV Europe vessel where suspicious activities were noted.
Acting on precise intelligence from ATS Gujarat, the ICG Interceptor Boats, along with ATS personnel, located and retrieved five bags thrown overboard from MV Europe. These bags were found to contain packets of Cocaine, totaling 115 kg in weight. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics is approximately Rs 1,150 crore.
The joint ICG and ATS team swiftly responded to the situation, demonstrating seamless coordination and efficiency. Following the seizure, the vessel was brought to port for further investigation. Ongoing joint investigations by ICG, ATS Gujarat, and other relevant agencies are currently underway.
