The Indian Embassy in Doha announced that the mortal remains of four out of the 12 Indian nationals who died in the Ras Laffan Gas explosion are being sent back to India. The embassy expressed gratitude to Qatari authorities and Indian community organizations for their assistance. They are in contact with the injured Indians as well.
The Qatari Ministry of Interior reported that 13 individuals lost their lives, and 66 others were injured in a technical malfunction at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City. Qatar Energy stated that the incident occurred during start-up at Ras Laffan Industrial City, leading to an explosion and fire at the Barzan gas supply facility.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the Amir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his condolences and support following the tragic accident. Both leaders expressed solidarity and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of their citizens.
