The Indian Embassy in Vietnam is overseeing the repatriation of the bodies of 15 Indian nationals who died in a tragic boat accident in Vietnam. The mortal remains are being transported to Ho Chi Minh City and will soon be flown back to India after necessary formalities are completed. The Embassy is working closely with Vietnamese authorities to ensure the swift transportation of the deceased back to India.
After the boat accident, 15 Indian survivors received medical treatment and have been discharged from the hospital. One patient in critical condition has also been discharged and is on the way back to India, while another is still undergoing treatment in Phu Quoc. The Indian Embassy and Consulate teams are providing support and assistance in Vietnam.
The boat accident, which claimed the lives of 15 people, including tourists from Tamil Nadu, occurred off Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island. The vessel, carrying around 32 Indian tourists, capsized while cruising in the waters south of Phu Quoc. Rescue efforts were promptly initiated, with several passengers rescued from the water and provided with medical aid.
Authorities confirmed the tragic loss of 15 lives in the accident, while survivors were successfully rescued. The cause of the boat capsizing is under investigation by Vietnamese authorities to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
