As Hockey India prepares for the Hockey India Annual Awards 2025 in New Delhi on 27 March, Indian hockey players Hardik Singh and Navneet Kaur have been nominated for the prestigious Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year 2025. Hardik Singh is also a contender for the Hockey India Ajit Pal Singh Award for Midfielder of the Year 2025, while Navneet Kaur is in the running for the Hockey India Dhanraj Pillay Award for Forward of the Year 2025, recognizing their consistent performances.
Both players played crucial roles in India’s success on the international stage in 2025. Hardik Singh contributed significantly to India’s gold medal victory at the Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025, with stellar midfield displays. Meanwhile, Navneet Kaur’s standout performance at the Women’s Asia Cup Gongshu 2025 helped India secure a silver medal, with her scoring six goals during the campaign and reaching the milestone of 200 international caps.
Reflecting on his nomination, Hardik expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the importance of recognition for athletes’ hard work.
