The Indian junior (U21) men’s hockey team completed its competitive exposure tour of Belgium, facing top European nations. Coach Frederic Soyez expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress during the tour. The tour, spanning from July 5 to 18, 2026, showcased the team’s tactical depth and character, culminating in a thrilling victory over the Netherlands.
Coach Soyez described the Belgium tour as an exceptional experience, emphasizing the growth opportunities provided by competing against high-quality opposition. India started the campaign with a tough 2-4 defeat against Austria but bounced back in the second game with a convincing 4-1 win.
Throughout the tour, India encountered strong opponents, including Belgium and Germany. Despite some losses, the team displayed improvement in each game, reflecting the players’ commitment and adaptability.
