The Consulate General of India in Seattle recently hosted a successful “Mango Magic” event, showcasing seven premium Indian mango varieties to importers, distributors, and retailers, with Costco being one of the major participants. Costco’s introduction of Indian Kesar mangoes in select locations led to a rapid sell-out within hours of hitting the shelves.

The enthusiasm for Indian mangoes extends beyond the Indian community, with even US officials and lawmakers praising the fruit’s exceptional taste.
India, as the world’s largest mango producer with over 1,000 varieties, has seen its mango exports to the US steadily rise, reaching $10 million in FY2023-24. With the US mango market exceeding $1 billion in value and growing, Indian exporters are seizing the opportunity to introduce diverse regional mango varieties to American consumers.
