Indian missions in Kuwait, Algeria, Kyrgyzstan, Fiji, and Niger kick-started events in anticipation of the upcoming International Day of Yoga on June 21. In Kuwait, the Embassy of India initiated a unique yoga session at the Gulf SPIC Labour Camp, emphasizing the significance of yoga for healthy aging. Indian nationals actively participated in the session, showcasing the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’ and its benefits for physical and mental well-being.
In Algeria, a rejuvenating yoga session was led by Algerian yoga teacher Wasila Hamouni, bringing together yoga enthusiasts and Indian Embassy officials. Ambassador Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni encouraged attendees to partake in a mass online yoga session on June 14 to set a Guinness World Record and celebrate the International Day of Yoga with their families on June 21.
Meanwhile, in Kyrgyzstan, a Master Yoga Session was conducted at the Unit of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, with over 100 personnel participating, including Defence Attache Colonel Pankaj Sharma from the Embassy. The Embassy of India in Niger also organized a pre-event yoga session at Abdou Moumouni University, Niamey, focusing on promoting health, well-being, and inner balance among students and faculty.
In Fiji, the High Commission of India in Suva and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre organized a Yoga Session at Rambisessar Memorial Primary School, Suva. The session aimed to underscore the enduring benefits of yoga in enhancing physical fitness, mental well-being, and inner harmony among the youth.
