The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) has expressed worries to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis regarding a recent shooting incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. President Abhay Sinha highlighted the prevailing unease in the film industry due to multiple shooting episodes in Mumbai. Sinha emphasized Shetty’s contributions to Indian cinema and urged for a thorough investigation into the security breach.
The association’s letter to the CM stressed the need for immediate action to address the incident at Shetty’s residence and to enhance security measures for the film fraternity. The shooting at Rohit Shetty’s Juhu bungalow last Sunday has raised concerns among celebrities, with reports indicating a reluctance to engage with the police. Investigators suspect the shooting aimed to instill fear within the entertainment industry.
While reports suggest threatening calls to many individuals, including Rohit Shetty, the filmmaker himself denied receiving any such calls. Despite challenges in gathering statements or complaints, the police are actively pursuing leads and deploying teams across the country to apprehend the culprits.
