The Passing Out Parade (POP) of the Spring Term 2026 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, is scheduled for May 28. Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, will grace the event as the Chief Guest and Reviewing Officer, as announced by an official.
This parade signifies a significant moment for cadets, marking their transition into Commissioned Officers in the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and Maritime forces of Friendly Foreign Countries after rigorous training. It is a time-honoured military tradition that showcases military drill, pride, and patriotism.
Cadets who have completed their training successfully will demonstrate their preparedness to safeguard the nation’s maritime frontiers and security interests during the parade. The event will include participants from the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and trainees from Seychelles, Tanzania, and Vietnam, highlighting India’s commitment to international maritime partnerships.
Senior defense officers, foreign Military Attaches, parents, and mentors will be in attendance to witness the ceremony. The parade will feature the awarding of medals and trophies to outstanding performers, followed by the symbolic ‘Shipping of Stripes’ ceremony, signifying the transition from trainee to Military Officer.
